Topic:

Procurement: The Cornerstone of Inventory Control & Logistics

Speaker:

Ronald Heere Senior Global Category Manager - Construction Procurement

Supply Chain management can be quite a balancing act involving purchasing, Inventory, and logistics. The APICS Dictionary, 15th edition, defines Procurement as “the Business functions of Purchasing, Inventory Control, Traffic, Receiving, Incoming Inspection, and salvage operations.” Procurement is at the center of all supply chain operations. It’s value add proposition can set the direction and its processes are intertwined throughout the supply chain.

Take-Aways:

  1. In today’s business world it is not enough to have all the parts. You have to have them in all the right places-at the right cost.
  2. The dependability & consistency of the Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Logistics departments will keep costs under control and keep the customer coming back for more.
  3. All three areas Must work together to identify where the best deal lies and have a seat at the table and work together.

Keynote Speaker:

Ronald Heere
