From item and Vendor set-up, through Customs Entry and Receipt at the DCs, how the pieces fit together.

  • This interactive discussion will illustrate some of the steps taken to create new skus, set up new foreign business partners, considerations , and how the item flows through each piece of the process.

 

  • You’ll have a better understanding of the timing associated with the import order process, some of the intricacies associated with logistics, as well as learning about CTPAT(Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) and securing your Supply Chain.

Speakers Bio & Background:

Joe Barbieri,Senior Director Supply Chain, Five Below, Inc.

Joe Barbieri is the Senior Director, Supply Chain, for Five Below, Inc. overseeing the newly created CustomsTrade area, focusing on Compliance and CTPAT.  Since joining Five Below in 2003, Joe has helped Five Below grow from 5 to over 900stores, expand into four Regional Distribution Centers, roll out asuccessful International Consolidation and Import program, as well as Tier 1 CTPAT status.

 Joe has a B.B.A. in Marketing from Iona College and has over 25 years of Retail experience.  Prior to joining Five Below, Joe held various leadership roles at other national big box and specialty retailers in the areas of Planning, Distribution, and Replenishment.

 Joe has successfully completed coursework in Logistics, Materials and Supply Chain Management courses at Rowan University / Burlington Community College (RCBC ) with a concentration in International Logistics .

Joe is part of a small group of logistics professionals who are part of a Logistics Advisory Board created to assist Rowan University / Burlington Community College (RCBC) as well as James Madison University’s College of Business, as they both consider Supply Chain Management curriculum.  He has also been a guest speaker at both RCBC and JMU.

Joe is a member of APICS and The Traffic Club of Philadelphia, as well as the British Motor Club of South Jersey.
